Ellen Dodson Paoletti, born Lemma Ellen Dodson, daughter of Charlie Howard Dodson and Hazel Doris Parcell and sister to Robert Dodson, died in the early morning of February 4, 2021 in Grove City, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Charles Howard Paoletti; her daughter-in-law, Alexis Lu; and countless friends and family who loved her dearly. She was born September 12, 1942 in Martinsville, Virginia. Ellen was loving, generous and kind. She never met a stray she did not love and try to take care of. She would adopt dogs, cats, birds, squirrels, and humans alike. Ellen had a quick, boisterous, and infectious sense of humor. She was always laughing the loudest, even when she was the only one laughing. She was an avid reader and she loved going to see movies. She was always cheering on her home teams, the Columbus Crew and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Ellen loved the water and the ocean. Another of her great passions was traveling and seeing the world. Ellen worked most of her life for the state of Ohio at the Columbus Developmental Center working with the developmentally disabled. Ellen was a devoted Christian and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Grove City. She served in many ways and had numerous friends and family that she had made through her church. She served on the church council at the time of her death. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or Bethel Lutheran Church. The funeral and inurnment will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hover Road, Grove City, Ohio, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 12pm. Pastor Peter Ray presiding.
