Emil E. Wilson Sr. Obituary
Wilson Emil E. Wilson Sr., 84, of Fairview Heights, IL, born December 31, 1932, in Delaware, Ohio, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, with his family by his side. Mr. Wilson was retired E9 from the Air Force serving 28 years. Afterwards he earned a degree in Psychology and worked as a counselor for Belleville Mental Health for ten years. He retired to a life of volunteer work serving on several executive boards to include the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Willa Mae Wilson, and brother Ronald. Emil is survived by his wife, Haruko "Cha"; and their three children, Emil Jr. (Debra), Kimberly (David), and Lydia (Dan); grandsons, Michael Sr. (Nicole), Emil III, Samuel "Sam"; granddaughters, Rachel and Elsa; great grandsons, Michael Jr. and Jonathan; sister, Richie Dean; step-granddaughter and step-grandson, Dusty (Jim) and Kenneth (Jessica) with children; nieces and nephews, Ronald, John, Ruth, Marci (Justin), Tanya, Linda, and Rick; and a host of beloved cousins. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, 334 S. Sandusky Street, Delaware where the Delaware County Veterans Association will provide military honors. The family will then host a reception in the Snyder Rodman Community Room, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware. The Snyder Rodman Funeral Center of Delaware is honored to serve this veteran and his family.
