Frances J. Peters, age 94, of Parkside at Wesley Ridge, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a longtime resident of Bexley and member of Bexley United Methodist Church. Fran was a graduate of South High School and The Ohio State University where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She was a member of the Bexley Women's Club and the Bexley Historical Society, was an avid gardener, and a longtime supporter of the Columbus Symphony. She traveled extensively with her husband, Rotary friends and church friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas C. Peters; parents, Harold and Mary Johnson; and sister Betty Born. She is survived by loving children, Dr. Lawrence (Sally) Peters, Meg Peters, Thom (Rachelle) Peters, Phil (Megan) Peters; grandchildren Daniel, Andrew (Valerie), Jared, Kelsey (Jordan) Rodriguez, Jack, Gloria; great grandson, Jonathan Rodriguez; dear cousin Jean Roeth; and family friend Don Dill. Fran loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her church family, Bible Study and living out her faith in word and deed. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43227. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St., with visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Private family interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family appreciates Mom's dear friends and caring staff at Wesley Ridge. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bexley United Methodist Church or to Methodist Elder Care Services.
