Fred DiPietro Obituary
DiPietro Fred DiPietro, New Port Richey, Florida, (formerly of Columbus, Ohio), died Thursday, June 1, 2017, from unanticipated complications following a severe myasthenia gravis crisis. For six hellacious weeks, Fred bravely struggled to overcome this dystrophic and autoimmune disease. Survived by Vickie (Anderson) DiPietro, his "beautiful bride" of 42 years; he was button-popping proud of their five amazing children, Fred (Linda) DiPietro, Kellie (John) Patton, John (Kelly) McKown, Adam (Kimberly) McKown, and Joseph (Stephanie) DiPietro. Survivors further include his beloved "baby sister", Julie (Ezio) Cecchetti, his faithful email buddy; sister-in-law, Diana Baird; 15 fantastic grandchildren, two terrific great granddaughters and his daily "little buddy" companion, furbaby Penny. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors sadly bid farewell to this complex, brilliant, fun-loving man with a quirky sense of humor. A retired mechanical designer, Fred loved volunteering at the local elementary schools, tutoring students in math, and playing Santa to the schoolchildren at Christmastime. Respecting Fred's wishes, there will be no scheduled viewing or funeral service. DOBIES FUNERAL HOME, Holiday, FL, will conduct a private cremation. The family will host a Celebration of Life tribute in Holiday, FL, next month on what would have been Fred's 75th birthday. If you wish to make a donation in Fred's name, please consider donating to the Florida Suncoast SPCA or . The family wishes to thank the many caregivers and medical professionals at the following medical facilities for their continuous care of and genuine concern for Fred during his illness: Florida North (Helen Ellis) Hospital, Tarpon Springs, FL; Trinity Hospital, Trinity, FL; and Life Care Center of New Port Richey, FL.
