Gary Foti Obituary
Foti , Gary
1949 - 2018
Gary Joseph Foti was born on August 18, 1949 and passed away on March 17, 2018 with family by his side. Gary never knew a stranger. Everyone was just a friend that he hadn't met yet. A lifelong resident of central Ohio, he was a proud graduate of Bishop Watterson High School. As a young man, Gary served as a volunteer firefighter. He gave 28 years of faithful service to the Columbus Public School District before retiring in 2001. After retirement, Gary enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports and was an enthusiastic fan of the Grandview Bobcats, as well as the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. Gary was a devoted son and is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Joseph and Raye Foti. Gary is survived by his wife, Sheryl of Grandview Heights; his stepdaughter, Jennifer (Yacine) Sami and four beloved grandchildren, Pete, Oscar, Meriem and Nora; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Franks; as well as his sister, Pam Foti (and Lori Gelvin, and nephews, Ben and Anders) of Flagstaff, Arizona; and his brother, Robert (Deb) Foti (and niece, Isabella) of Fenton, Michigan. He will also be missed by his former son-in-law, Ken Brusk and family, and numerous friends at Jersey Baptist Church. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 25 from 6-8 pm at Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home at 515 North High St. in Worthington, with funeral to follow at Rutherford Corbin on Monday, March 26 at 10am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N High Street in Lewis Center.
