Gary R. King, age 73 of Marengo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 after a long battle with cancer, he was surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 27, 1945 and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty King. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 41 years, Debbie; daughters, Kelley (Travis) Hutchins of Fredericktown, Kacey (Brian) Radabaugh of Utica; sister, Bonnie (Bill) Patterson of Marengo; he is also survived by his four grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Tuff, Reese, Avery, and Cameron. He will also be missed by a host of family and friends. Gary was a long-time Realtor and Broker for his own company, King Realty since 1971, and was also associated with Hurdle Enterprises. He had a lifelong love of horses beginning with 4-H, horse show competition, show judging, and harness and thoroughbred racing. For many years he was the "Stallman" for the harness horses arriving to race at the Delaware County Fair during Little Brown Jug week. Gary and his wife also announced the All Horse Parade at the Liberty Street announcers stand prior to Jug Week. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and had an extensive collection. Gary and Debbie loved vacationing in Florida, truck and tractor pulls, county fairs, and many other events. He was a member of the Genoa Baptist Church, Westerville, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio. Memorial service will follow the calling hours and will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Booth. Graveside services will take place Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Marengo Cemetery.
