February 8, 2018, Harriet Koegler passed. Harriet was born in Plain City, Ohio, on October 18, 1921. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents August and Edith Nicol, her husband Paul Koegler, grandson Scott Anthony Wagstaff, daughter Karen Elaine Wagstaff, and brother Leland Nicol. She is survived by her sister, Bernette Gill and her children; her son, Ron Koegler and daughter-in-law, Cathy and grandchildren, Steven Koegler and Michelle Koegler; son-in-law, Reggie Wagstaff and grandchildren, Suzann Wagstaff, Heather Wagstaff-Kinstler, and Ryan Wagstaff; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Jaxon Kinstler and Ryder McKinley Wagstaff; and there are numerous cousins to be remembered. She was an active lifelong member of her church, Concordia Lutheran Church. She served her church as secretary, Sunday school teacher, weekly bulletin printer, Communion assistant, and church record keeper and recorder. She was the religious center of her family; her faith was her rock. Harriet spent forty years serving the South-Western City Schools as a secretary for the Pleasant View and Westland High School's front office. After her retirement, she would return to the Westland as a helper and assist in various administrative tasks. Prior to and after retirement, she and her husband served as hostess and host for visitors who visited the Thurber House. She and her husband made traveling America to visit all of the fifty the states a retirement project. Her interest in her community prompted her involvement in feeding the less fortunate. She often collected food and dry goods for distribution. Harriet loved chocolate, coffee,and feeding her family. Visits to her house always involved family, food, and fun; grandma was a title and name she loved. She had a love of life and enjoyed being of service. There will be on Thursday, February 15 viewing hours 4-7 P.M. at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 West Broad Street. There will be an additional viewing on Friday morning, February 16, 9:45-10:30 A.M. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 225 Schoolhouse Lane, Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will follow the 9:45-10:30 A.M. viewing and, then, interment at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio. Memorial gifts may be sent to Concordia Lutheran Church.
