Jackson Allan Amon Obituary
Amon Jackson Allan Amon, age 13, was granted his angel wings on April 18, 2017. He died unexpectedly in his home with his family. Jackson's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though his words were few and difficult to understand, his thoughts could always be heard. Although Jackson had many medical issues, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours listening to music, playing on one of his assorted colored Ipads, or rocking in his favorite chair while reading The Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham. He loved Thomas the Tank Engine, the movie Marley and Me and Signing Time videos. He especially loved going on various outings to Petland, Recreation Outlet and Skyzone and participated in Kidsport gymnastics for special needs children and the Miracle League of Central Ohio. He loved the color green and listening to the sounds of trains and the lights and sirens of police cars and firetrucks. With Jackson's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents. We are so thankful Jackson's sisters, Chelsea (27), Kylie (14) and Ellie (11) can hold dear the memory of Jackson's gentle spirit. Jackson leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Jackson's love extends to his long-term nurse Loretta Crego. There is a special place in our hearts for Loretta because of her continual dedication, love and support, Jackson prospered and was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. He will be dearly missed by all his special caregivers throughout his life. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Jackson with love and dignity in his life. Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Mitzi Amon of Powell, Ohio; sister, Chelsea Leasure of Chicago; sisters, Kylie (14) and Ellie (11) of Powell; maternal grandparents, Pat and William Miller; and paternal step-grandmother, Julie Vigar; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Robert Vigar of Delaware, Ohio and paternal grandparents Ronald and Jayne Amon of Canfield, Ohio. Calling hours are to be held Friday, April 21 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 from 10-11 a.m. at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME in Powell, Ohio. There will be a funeral service on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rutherford Funeral Home. Burial will be at Africa Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jackson Amon's memory to: The Miracle League of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 1303, Dublin, OH 43017.
