James Bryan Obituary
Bryan, James
James Gregory "Greg" Bryan, age 67, crossed from this world into the arms of Jesus on November 20, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Columbus, OH the youngest son of Gerald and Thelma (Strasbaugh) Bryan, he was a resident of Westerville, Ohio. He leaves his wife of 17 years, Janet (Shuler) Bryan; his sons, Steven Gregory (Kyra) Bryan and Christopher Bryan; his daughter, Jayme (Ralph) Ludemann; grandchildren, Dara Leanne Ludemann and Ralph Louis Ludemann Jr.; faithful companion, Coco Chanel Number 5 and many close friends. Jim was preceded in death by mother Thelma Strasbaugh Bryan, father Gerald F Bryan, sister Martha Grace Hampton, brothers Franklin Eugene and W. Edward Bryan. Jim attended Medina Middle School in Columbus where he formed lifelong friends that kept in touch to this day. After graduating Brookhaven High School Jim then attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, IL before transferring to The Ohio State University graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Physical Education. Jim spent his career with the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks (because people come before land) in various positions, the last being an Administrative Supervisor over 8-10 Recreation Centers. Jim was an avid runner, participating in Triathlons and Senior Triathlons winning many medals. He loved to camp, go to Disney and spend time at the Outer Banks. When he became a grandfather (B-PA!) life was even more fulfilling. He spent many hours teaching the grandkids about the outdoors, reading and taking them on long walks with Coco. One of the hallmarks of Jim life was his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Jim led a home group for many years that grounded his beliefs in the Holy Scriptures. He was a graduate of the International Leadership Training Institute and was an Elder and one of the founding members at Harbor Christian Fellowship of Galena Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Activities Fund c/o Scenic Pointe Nursing Center, 8067 Township Road 334, Millersburg, Ohio to support those less fortunate to have fulfillment activities while there.
