James Fathbruckner Obituary
Fathbruckner, James 1957 - 2018
James D. Fathbruckner, age 60, of Ostrander, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at St. Ann's Hospital as a result of pancreatic cancer. He was born on July 23, 1957 in Delaware to James A. and Mary D. (Egger) Fathbruckner of Delaware. A 1975 graduate of Buckeye Valley High School, he was a people person. With a desire to help individuals, he enjoyed managing people because it allowed him to take care of them. Regardless of the job, he took personal responsibility to care for those he came into contact with. James lived his life, focused on the right stuff. A true conversationalist, he was easy to befriend and gifted with the ability to recall the names and details of every conversation. Forever generous and compassionate, he will be remembered for his empathetic ways and time spent with his treasured family and friends. He leaves a legacy of never allowing concern for his popularity to stop him from doing right. A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Mary Church in Delaware and formerly served on the parish's council. He was also instrumental in the development of Seton Catholic High School in Richmond, Indiana where he had resided. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1056 and volunteered at fund raising activities. Since the age of eight, his lifelong passion was raising pigeons. He was currently serving as regional director of the NPA, president of the Rare Breeds Club, member of the Syrian Breeds Club, and president of the former COPFA. His current loft he named the International House of Pigeons. He was a founding member of the Delaware County Genealogy Society and considered to be the family historian. He used his vast knowledge of the Fathbruckner family tree to bring the generations of his family together. Every aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, and nephew was important to him. Until the late 1990's he worked with Schrock Cabinet Company as a sales representative, then was a global customer service and fleet manger, with Winbook as a customer service manager, and for the past 14 years as a claims specialist with Social Security Department in Marion. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Mary Jane (Demetrio); son, Jacob (Sarah) Fathbruckner of Delaware; daughter, Rosa "Tillie" Fathbruckner (Joshua Proffitt) of Pittsburg, KS; granddaughters, Gracynn and Charlotte; brothers, Bryan (Carol) of Delaware, Glenn (Roberta) of Radnor, Rusty (Teresa) Fathbruckner of Delaware; many many god-children, and a large extended family. Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, where Rosary services will follow at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
