Jo Mason Obituary
Mason, Jo
A Celebration of Life June 26, 1919 - January 24, 2018. Jo Mason, daughter of James Talt Smiley and Mary Price Smiley, passed away in Aromas, California, at the age of 98. She was born at home in Dublin, Ohio. After graduating from Business School, she worked for Collier Publishing Company. Then the war broke out and she married Francis (Speed) Mason and had a daughter, Pamela and a son, Jeffrey. After raising her family, she went back to work for Linworth Farmer's Exchange as a bookkeeper. She and her husband retired and moved to Florida, then to Phoenix, Arizona to be near their children. Due to the loss of her husband and son, and her failing eyesight, she then moved to California residing with her daughter and son-in-law. She listened to multiple audio books and The NY Times, corresponding with numerous friends and family across the country. She enjoyed the movies, bingo plus exercising daily. She loved life. Her smile and good cheer will live in our hearts forever. Survived by one daughter-in-law, Karen Mason, wife of Jeff Mason and her three children, Ali, Jason and Logan, who became her step-grandchildren. Also, son-in-law, Steve Rehn, husband to Pamela Mason, and the person she looked upon as her best friend. She chose to remain with him after the death of her daughter. He took great, loving care of her until her death. She will be extremely missed by many friends and especially all of her nieces and nephews who remained very close to her throughout her life. Friends may call Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio, and from 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Dublin Community Church, 81 West Bridge Street, Dublin, Ohio, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 am.
