John Kunz Obituary
Kunz, John
1949 - 2018
John Kunz, age 68, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at home after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 26, 1949 to the late Richard and Marlen (Harden) Kunz-Bennett. After graduating from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1967, John served eight years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He spent 46 years with the love of his life, best friend, and wife, Sandra (Masten) Kunz. John earned an associate degree from Ohio University Lancaster and was a manager for Motorist Insurance from 1976 until his retirement. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing music, golfing, fishing, the Buckeyes, and spending time with his family and friends. John never met a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh with his humor. He was a member of the Whitehall VFW Memorial Post 8794, AMVETS Post 1420 Reynoldsburg, Fraternal Order of Eagles Big Walnut F.O.E. #3261, and American Legion Bexley Post. John simply loved life. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sandy Kunz; siblings, Sandra Kunz-Freeman, Thomas (Mary Jo) Kunz, Jane (Randy) Abrams, and Liz (Steve) McLane; many beloved nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle John; and dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 4-8 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Big Walnut F.O.E. #3261, 1623 Brice Rd., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to the Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America, 3011 Townsgate Rd, Suite 450, Westlake Village, CA 91361.
