John Orlando "Bud" Turner

Obituary Condolences

Turner John "Bud" Orlando Turner, 69, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2017 after a valiant battle with a long-term illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. John was born August 29, 1947 to the late langa Gore and Jake Turner in Columbus, Ohio. He loved sports and working with youth, he also loved assisting with coaching in the greater Columbus area. He graduated from Columbus South High School. John served in the US Marines Corps and served in the Vietnam War where he received two purple hearts for his service. He retired from Franklin County Courts and Mt Carmel Hospital East. He served with Westerville Police Department. John was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Patricia "Patsy" Turner; three sons, Chris, Jotjr and Theo; brothers, James H. Turner (Deborah) and Paris L. Gore (Sherry); sisters, Darlene G. Minor (James), Cardella A.Wood (Jonathan) and Reon M. Scott (Graeme); grandchildren, Antonio, Malcolm, Cariss, Jotjr Jr., Daisha, Orlando and Janya; great grandchildren; special friend, Don Worley; and a host of family and friends. Celebration of Life 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Mt. Gerizim Baptist Church, 2633 Mock Rd., where his family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E.
