John William Wood, 79 years old went home the be with The Lord on Monday, September 4, 2017. John loved The Lord above all, he loved his family and anything that he could drive fast and make go faster. His favorite thing to do was racing his high- performance boat in any body of water and take on any person brave enough to race him. He was also a computer master and Mr. Fix it. John graduated from Union Furnace High School in Logan Ohio. He worked as a computer technician at Western Electric for over 30 years. John served 2 terms as Vice President for Local 2020 I.B.E.W. He later was a self-employed computer programmer and consultant. John was very involved in a healing ministry, Restoring Lives International, and was blessed to have been a part of so many people's lives. He was also a member of Trinity Family Life Center. Survived by his wife Linda (Lowe) Wood, married on July 16, 1966~ they recently celebrated 51 years of marriage. Also survived by, their only child Heather (Brad) Marshall, and their grandchildren Rebekah and Jacob Wood, and brothers, Don (Kay) Wood, Tom (Phyllis) Wood and Jim (Diane) Wood, and sister Anita Fouty, plus many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents William "Bill" and Louise Wood, also his brother Lester Wood and his sister Mary Margaret Garrison. John's family will receive guests Wednesday evening from 5 to 8pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, where his funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am. Burial to follow at Glen Rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pathways Hospice, 619 Claremont Ave., Ashland, Ohio.
