Obituary Condolences

Lipsky Joseph A. Lipsky, died on March 29, 2017 at Friendship Village of Dublin. He was born in Glen Lyon, PA on March 31, 1930, son of Bruno J. and Aniela Lipski. He graduated from Newport Township High School, Wanamie, PA in 1947, received his BSc degree from Penn State University in 1951, served his country in the USAF, Strategic Air Command, during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as 1st Lt. in 1956. He then earned his MSc (1959) and PhD (1961) degrees from The Ohio State University; he served on the faculty of The Ohio State University Department of Physiology, College of Medicine from 1961-1999, retiring as Professor Emeritus. He was an active member of the Penn State University Alumni Association, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, OSURA, and the Fellowship Group of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. On June 12, 1957, he married Betty Sue Carter of Roswell, New Mexico, who preceded him in death on December 8, 2009. He is survived by two children, Michael J. Lipsky of Columbus, OH and Ann-Marie (Peter) Sharpe of Wixom, MI; and two grandchildren, Megan and Sarah. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9-10:30 a.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH. A few words will be spoken at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Union Cemetery. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 7 West Henderson Road, Columbus, OH 43214 or to the Kobacker House Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
