Keith Boger died at his home in Delaware on Friday, January 12, after a courageous battle with cancer. Keith was born on November 6, 1955, in Marion, Ohio, where he attended Marion Harding High School and was a member of the Marion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Keith moved to Delaware in 1971 and graduated from Hayes High School in 1974. Keith received a degree in political science with high honors and a Phi Beta Kappa election in 1978 from George Washington University, then graduated from GWU Law School in 1981. On his birthday in 1981, he began his life's passionate pursuit when he was admitted as an Ohio attorney.Keith married the love of his life and greatest friend, Blythe Cummins, in 1983. Following time in the Delaware City Prosecutor's office, he began practicing law with his mentor Tom Clark in 1984, being joined in their firm by Casey Clark in 1991; the three practiced together until Tom's death in 2016. Keith served as Village Solicitor in both Sunbury and Ashley, volunteered many times as treasurer for Delaware City Schools levy campaigns, and was a member of numerous local non-profit boards, including Liberty Community Center, OWjL and HelpLine. He loved to read, garden, cook, spend time on his back porch, and make annual trips with his family to Traverse City, Michigan. Keith was always listening to music of every kind and had a celebrated tie-dye t-shirt collection. He enjoyed Indians baseball, Buckeye football and the NBA. Keith is survived by his wife Blythe; son David (Kristi); daughter Andra; granddaughter Halli, his "joy in every day"; mother Shirley Cochran; uncle Don (Reecie) Elsasser; and sister Karen Landacre. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Elsasser, and his Dad, Russ Cochran. Calling hours will be held at Robinson Funeral Home in Delaware on Thursday, January 18, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties (www.helplinedelmor.org).
