Kermit James "Jim" Edwards, formerly of Pickerington, OH, son of the late John Edwards and Ollie Loretta (Newell) Edwards, was born, 8/30/1922 in Wheelersburg, OH. He departed this life, 3/17/2018, at his Residence in Camdenton, MO at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 17 days. On July 5, 1947 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Ruth (Hasenauer) and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ollie (Newell) Edwards, his wife Rosemary (Hasenhauer) Edwards, a son James Stephen Edwards, four sisters and four brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Edwards, of Camdenton, MO (formerly of Cols, OH), Betty Hoffman of Camdenton, MO; a granddaughter; Rhonda Merritt; and two great-grandchildren; Kali Merritt and Bella Michael, all of Camdenton, MO. Kermit was a WW II US Navy veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and The Baptist Temple in Pickerington, OH. He was also a member of the Ralph R. Rickley Lodge #670 F.&A.M., Cols, OH, Aladdin Shriner, Order of Eastern Star, Mt Vernon Commandery, all of Columbus, OH, and the Ford Club, Cols, OH. He played the clarinet for over 70 years, including with the Shriner's Band. Kermit was an electrician, having worked for North American Aviation and Lucent Technology in Cols, OH for many years. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Pickerington Baptist Temple, Pickerington OH with Rev. B. J. Van Aman officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Franklin Hills Cemetery, Lithopolis, OH. Memorial donations may be made to Ralph R. Rickly Lodge #670, 1120 Barnett Road, Columbus, OH 43227 in his memory.
