Walters Lauretta June Walters, 91, passed away on June 7, 2017, at The SharonBrooke Inn, Newark, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 16, 1926, on Staddens Bridge Road, Newark, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, June 12, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at BRUCKER and KISHER FUNERAL HOME with Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville, Ohio. She is predeceased by her husband Robert who passed away in 2012 and her parents OG and Mary McCormick Clark. Lauretta was the youngest and last to pass away of eight brothers and sisters. Her brothers were Clarence Clark, Glenn Clark, Cecil Clark, Wayne Clark, and Lawrence Clark, her sisters were Vivian Clark Davis and Martha Jane Clark Watts. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (Vicci) of Newark, Ronald (Marianne) of Upper Arlington, Thomas (Susan) of Cincinnati, and Dan (Marjeanne) of Newark. Also, one brother-in-law, Charles "Pete" (Barbara) Walters of Newark. She also had ten grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Walters, Kimberly (Steve) Peck, Heather (Ion) Jones, Tricia (Chris) Sakles, Grant (Jamie) Walters, Courtney (Brandon) Biniker, Emily (Peter) Norton, Vincent (Amy) Walters, Brittany Walters, and Casey (Matt) Hardy; one step-granddaughter, Kristin Vonnes. Also 15 great grandchildren, Carson and Caroline Peck, Sophia and Gabriella Walters, Jake and Reid Biniker, Presley, Hampton, and Dempsey Hardy, Oliver and Georgia Grace Norton, Samson, Sheppard, and Solomon Sakles, and Wiley Walters. Lauretta was a special person. She was a devoted, loving wife for 68 years, a mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her finest quality was her absolute dedication to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was having all the family together on the farm especially for holidays and picnics. She accepted everyone graciously--all were welcome in her home. She worked at the Pure Oil Regional Distribution Center and retired from State Farm Insurance Company after 27 years of service. Lauretta was the first secretary hired when State Farm began operations in Newark. She was an avid sports fan of the Newark Wildcats and The Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a member of the Newark High School Quarterback, Rebounder, Diamond, and Booster Clubs. Lauretta and Bob were involved with standard bred horse racing which provided many fond memories for the family. She also enjoyed reading and playing word games. Lauretta was a 1943 graduate of Jacksontown High School. The Walters Family extends deep appreciation to the caring employees of The SharonBrooke Inn and hospice provider Vitas Healthcare. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, Ohio.
