Lawson Henry Bopp Obituary
Bopp Lawson Henry Bopp, August 28, 1935--April 27, 2017. Lawson Henry Bopp, 81, Carmel and former resident of Upper Arlington, Ohio, died April 27, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on August 28, 1935 in Columbus, OH to Ronald and Corinne Madrid (Vaughn) Bopp. He served in the United States National Guard. He lived most of his life in the Columbus, Ohio area until moving to the Carmel,IN area about 13 years ago. He and his wife once owned a craft shop called the "Corner Cupboard Crafts," in Upper Arlington, Ohio. He also owned a drapery business called Arlington Draperies for 40 years in Columbus, and worked for Artichoke Design Studio in Carmel for 8 years. He was involved with Twigs for 42 years and the Festival of Trees for 23 years, both with the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was involved during his childhood with the Columbus Boys' Choir. He loved to sing, had a beautiful voice, and sang in many church choirs. Lawson was a talented pianist after 12 years of lessons. He learned his love of sewing from his grandmother and also really enjoyed painting. He is survived by his four children, Debbie (Matt) Jones of Fayetteville, GA, Dr. Bradford (Mary) Bopp and Jenifer (Mark) Poulson, all of Carmel and Abby (Phaedra Doremus) Bopp of Dublin, OH; six grandchildren, Jenny Jones, D.V.M. of Kennesaw, GA, Katie Bopp, Emily Bopp, Justin Bopp, Joshua Bopp and Tyler Poulson all of Carmel. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Lee (Bryant) Bopp in 2012. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St Mark's United Methodist Church, 4780 E. 126th Street, Carmel, IN 46033. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. There will also be a Celebration of Life gathering in Columbus, Ohio for family and friends on July 8, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Nationwide Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-6810.
