Leonard F. Lewis Sr. Obituary
Lewis Leonard F. Lewis, Sr., born January 11, 1936 in Charleston, WV, passed away March 16, 2017. A 1953 graduate of Garnett High School, in Charleston, Leonard completed a 4 year enlistment with the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 35 years of service and then worked as a bus driver for ten years with Columbus City Schools. Preceded in death by parents Inez and Samuel Lewis, twin brother Leon, sisters Marie Hawes, Juanita Davison, and Janet Lewis, and grandson Andrew. Survived by wife, Maxine E. Lewis; daughters, Melinda (Quincy) Howard and Lisa (Rodney) Hopkins; son, Leonard Jr. (Angela); brothers, Samuel Jr., Don (Thelma), both of Charleston, and Harold (Betty); sister, Christine Dickerson of Charleston; grandchildren, Angelo Brown, Brandon Lewis, Sydney Howard, Ryan Hopkins, and Reggie Hopkins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at New Birth Christian Ministries, 3475 Refugee Rd., where his family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service.
