A celebration of life for Lynda S. (DelGenio) Canavan, age 70, of Thornville, Ohio will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 27 at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Timothy Hitchcock officiating. Lynda passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 28, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Suzanne (Geisheimer) DelGenio. Lynda retired from the Federal Reserve Bank where she worked in the data processing department. She was a graduate of Girard High School and a member of The National Honor Society. Lynda was an avid reader, an excellent cook and enjoyed camping with her family in the Mount Vernon area. She had a strong faith in God, but most of all enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Michael G. Canavan; a daughter, Tracy (Frederick) Dallmeyer of Plainfield, Illinois; a granddaughter, Autumn Dallmeyer; a grandson, Jonathan Dallmeyer; two brothers, Martin DelGenio and Steven (Deby) DelGenio, both of Appling, Georgia; and two fur babies, Bonnie and Clyde; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by an infant son Michael (1972), a daughter Christine M. Canavan (2017) and sister-in-law Elizabeth DelGenio. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday, October 27, from 2–3 p.m. at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath. Memorial contributions may be made in Lynda's name to The Gentle Barn, 2410 Dibbs Road, Knoxville, TN 37932 or any Miniature Pincher rescue.
