Marvin L. Sells, Jr., of Pickerington, passed away October 18, 2017 at his home. Born October 10, 1940 in Columbus, he was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Lillian (Mossman) Sells, Sr., son Mark Harris and brothers Jack and James Sells. Marvin began his lifelong career with various fire departments when he volunteered with Mifflin Twp at the age of 17. After 50 years of service, he retired from the Worthington Fire Department with a rank of Lieutenant, in 2008. During his career, he would work on trucks and squads with Clinton, Violet and Sharon townships, as well as the state Fire Marshall in the Department of Fire Prevention. When not working, Marvin enjoyed fishing, collecting fire memorabilia and getting down on the ground to play with his grandchildren. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Marianne (Kenton) Sells, son Matt (Heather) Sells; grandchildren Matthew, Mason, Amber, Allison, Micheala and Craig; great grandchildren Ava, Parker, Ainsley; and sister Eleanor (Dick) Conrad. Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 1-4PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM with Pastor David Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Violet Cemetery in Pickerington with Firefighter and Military Honors.
