Mary Ann Lambert Obituary
Lambert, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Lambert, age 92, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Clifford McKinley and Nellie Jay McKinley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, the late Robert W. (Bob) Lambert, and her first husband, John W. Rinesmith, killed in action during WWII. For the last 22 years, Mary Ann was a resident of the Willow Valley Retirement Community. While in good health, she was an active participant in bus trips, chorus, volunteer work, and craft classes. During her years of assisted care, she continued her love of life and made it her mission to make others smile and laugh. Prior to moving to Lancaster, Mary Ann was a loving wife and mother of three in Wilmington, DE, known for her beautiful flowers and for helping others whenever she could. She worked for many years at First Federal Savings & Loan, progressing from head teller to Loan Manager and eventually Branch Manager, and was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mary Ann is survived by her three children, Gary (Lydia) Lambert of Casa Grande, AZ; Mike (Liz) Lambert of Lititz, PA; and Lori Lambert of Charleston, SC; as well as her grandson, Paul (Lisa) Lambert and great-grandson Ryan of Kennett Square, PA. In addition, she is survived by one of her three siblings, Betty Jane Brandt, with whom she had a lifetime of wonderful memories and a most special bond. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of The Glen at Willow Valley, who provided loving dedicated care during her last nine years.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Mathias J. Brunner Scholarship Fund, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602. A family service will be held in Hillsboro, Ohio, with interment in Hightop Cemetery.
