Michael F. Kelsey Obituary
Kelsey Michael F. Kelsey, 27, of Columbus, died unexpectedly on March 26, 2017. Born in Columbus, on March 31, 1989, he was the only child of Mark and Moira Kelsey. Michael attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and primarily The Graham School in Columbus for his secondary education. He was currently employed at Contract Sweepers. Michael is survived by his father, Mark Kelsey; stepmother, Betty Cheung; mother, Moira Kelsey, all of Columbus; stepsisters, Yvette and husband, Matthew Hettlinger of Philadelphia, Meredith Tipple of Cincinnati; three nephews. He also leaves many uncles and aunts. On his father's side, Patricia Davis, Timothy and Audrey Kelsey, Robert and Margaret Kelsey, and William and Cynde Kelsey and 53 first and second cousins mostly in Columbus and north central Ohio. On his mother's side, uncles and aunts, Frank and Dee Teague, Terry and Dana Teague, Patrick and Fran Teague, Sean and Nancy Teague; and many cousins and second cousins in Massachusetts and the Atlantic states. He was preceded in death by uncles John Kelsey, Joseph Kelsey, Emile Bedard. Aunts Mary Lou Bedard and Christina Horner. Michael lived for the joys of life. He found so much joy and happiness in family gatherings and his beloved Turkey Bowl games, traveling with his parents to see more extended family or serving as the unofficial mascot at his father's summer legal workshops which took him to several "cool" cities over many years. But he found his most joy in playing amateur general manager of the Cleveland Browns and attending their games in Cleveland as well as following passionately his beloved Cavaliers and Indians and going to as many of their games as his dad would take him. He also loved movies. We mean he really, really loved movies where he could partially escape the demons of depression and he read all the Harry Potter books, several times. He was a creative writer and an excellent artist. We will miss his sharp wit and teasing nature. Godspeed my son! Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL in Upper Arlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clintonville. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NAMI of OH, or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Immaculate Conception. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to send condolences and share memories.
