MEGISON Michael Patrick Megison, Sr., age 65, of Westerville, OH, went home peacefully in the presence of family, Sunday, October 7, 2012. Retired Staff Lieutenant of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He was known for his artwork as well as working with Trooper to Trooper. Preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Helen Megison. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda Megison; sister, Claudia (Patrick) Spradlin of Xenia, OH; son, Michael Patrick (Shelly) Megison, Jr. of Jackson, MI; daughter, Patricia Michelle (Rick) Lamer of Newark, OH; grandchildren, Haylee Megison, Ashley Nichole Lamer, Darrick Lamer, Jr. and Jason Lamer; great-grandchild, Haydin Shockley; as well as his loving brood of dogs. Friends may visit Tuesday, October 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, where a service will be held Wednesday, October 10 at 11 a.m. with additional visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Lambert officiating. Interment Grove Cemetery, Kenton, OH.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike when he was a Dispatcher at the Comm Center. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed!

Lt. Megison was in charge of my police academy class in 1987. He treated all fairly and with respect. I am certain that he was a good trooper, and a fine man.

Wanda, Mike was a claasmate of mine at the academy. A finer man I can not describe. I mourn with you and family and celebrate Mike at the same time.

Mike kept me sane when I went though the academy, back in 1982...he always had a great smile and story to cheer up those early morning PT runs! Rest in Peace, Mike!
