Michael R. Brodrick Obituary
Brodrick Michael R. Brodrick, 70, of Powell, Ohio and formerly of Columbus, passed away June 9, 2017 at Arlington Court Care Center. He was born on September 1, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Clar Elma and Robert Brodrick. He was employed as a salesman by Crown Lift Trucks of Grove City for 40 years, retiring in 2012. Mike is survived by his son, Seth Brodrick of Columbus; his "significant other" of 12 years, Julie Russell of Powell; brothers, William (Beverly) of Algonquin, Illinois, Gregory (Michelle) of Cincinnati; sister, Patricia of Cincinnati; other survivors include best friend, Tom Ewers of Powell; Julie's children and their spouses, Jim (Leslie) Russell, Jackie Drumsta, and Jennifer (Uri) Holmes; nephews, Phillip and Robert; niece, Dorothy. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Clar Elma and Robert Brodrick and a nephew Brian Brodrick. Mike was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Powell and previously St. Peter's Parish, Columbus for several years where he served as President of Parish Council. Mike enjoyed Nascar racing and attended the annual races at Bristol, TN. He was a member and past president of the Central Ohio Anglers and Hunters Club, and a member of the NRA. He was a huge fan of the OSU Buckeyes football team and the Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoyed fishing with his friends in Canada. He was always awed by beautiful sunsets both when visiting Florida or here in Central Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy Street Powell, Ohio 43065. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10700 Liberty Road Powell, Ohio 43065 with Father James Black as Celebrant.
