Nancy Parks Pickett, 87 of Dallas, TX, formerly of Columbus, OH passed away peacefully on February 21, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Robert) Hinton of Dallas, TX, son, Daniel (Mary) Pickett of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Bonne (Travis) Whittaker, Melissa (Chris) Crosby, and Amy (Peter) Smelko of Dallas, Lauren (Matt) Berger of Jacksonville, FL and John (Jennifer) Pickett of Savannah, GA, great-grandchildren George Crosby, Miller Ann Crosby, and Aubry Whittaker of Dallas, TX, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E.T. and Gladys Graves Parks, and her loving husband Richard C. Pickett. She graduated from Grandview Heights High School and attended The Ohio State University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was a long time member of, and held office, in the following organizations: Kinder Key, Beta Theta Pi Mothers' Club, Daughters of the America Revolution including the Golden Wheel Schools Committee, Assisting Board V of the Childhood League, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni, and Guild Q of First Community Church. She was devoted to her family and gave enormous time and love to her children and their activities. She was a lifelong member of First Community Church (Couples Circle 20). She especially enjoyed her bridge clubs and neighbors. Her various pets gave her much pleasure over the years. She strongly believed in kindness to others. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, 8740 Founders Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268 or to First Community Foundation, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212.
