JENKINS Patricia S. Jenkins, age 81, died peacefully in her sleep on February 19, 2010 at the Kobacker House. Born to Conrad August and Florence Ostberg Stone in Clairton, PA, on July 2, 1928, Pat spent her formative years in Charleroi, PA. In 1940, she moved with her family to Bexley, where she graduated from Bexley High School in 1946. After attending Ohio Wesleyan University for a year, Pat graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Home Economics in 1950. At Ohio State, Pat was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 1952, Pat moved to Upper Arlington, where she was married, raised her family and lived until her death. During her lifetime, Pat was a very active volunteer with Children's Hospital auxiliary groups, including TWIG, Pleasure Guild, and Kinder Key. A member of TWIG #118 for over 50 years, she loved to participate in the Annual TWIG Bazaar. In addition, Pat was an active member of Assisting Board IV of The Childhood League, where she was involved in fund-raising, social activities and volunteering for over 50 years. Pat's passions included sewing and playing tennis and golf. She was a talented seamstress, making many of her own clothes and accessories over the years. Pat played golf courses around the world and once made a hole in one at Scioto Country Club. A lifelong Lutheran, Pat was a member of the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church for over 40 years. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad Stone (1897-1966) and Florence Stone (1901-1999), by her first daughter Diane, who was born in 1954 and died two days after birth, and by her former husband John Anthony Jenkins Jr. (1926-2007). Pat is survived by her loving daughter, Julie Anne Jenkins; and grandsons, Alexander Wightman Hadden and Payne August Hadden, of Weston, MA; her loving son, John Anthony Jenkins III and his partner Stephen Lyons, of Seattle, WA; her brother and sister-in-law, Conrad and Marilyn Stone, of Scottsdale, AZ; her niece, Kimberly Stone (Robert) Haltiwanger and family of Setauket, NY; her nephew, Rev. Michael (Laura) Stone and family of Hickory, NC; and her nephew, Jeffrey (Krista) Stone and family of Paradise Valley, AZ. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Patricia Stone Jenkins will be held in late May or early June 2010, the date yet to be determined.
