Paul E. Barton, 77, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 8, 2017 at St. Ann's. He was born March 13, 1940 in Columbus, son of the late John and Marvine Hill Barton. He graduated from North High School in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Later, he worked at Lazarus Department Store where he met Mary, his wife of 52 years. Shortly after they married, Paul went to work for Consolidated Freightways, where he worked as a road driver for 35 years. After he retired, Paul took on his favorite job as 'Pa' to his #1 Granddaughter, Mary Margaret. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Barton and sister, Alice Emmons. He is survived by his wife, Mary Marsh Barton; daughter, Susan (Brian) Barton-Nonno; brothers, John C. (Patti) Barton and Thomas (Carolyn) Barton; sisters, Barbara Edmundson, Phyllis Kines, Ruth (Gerald) Barker and Mary Barton-Smith; granddaughter, Mary Margaret Nonno; brother-in-law, Larry Emmons; sister-in-law, Cinda Barton and longtime special friend, Wayne Battrell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:30 PM at Xenos Christian Fellowship, Office Auditorium, 1340 Community Park Dr. Columbus, with visitation one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice c/o Mt. Carmel Foundation, 6150 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43213 or Tree of Life Christian Schools, 935 Northridge Rd.
