Philip Turner Paul Obituary
Paul Philip Turner Paul, 87, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on April 3, 2017 in Dublin, Ohio. Phil was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Mildred Paul on June 15, 1929. He received his BA at Albion College in 1951 and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then went on to the University of Michigan and received his BBA in 1953. After graduation, he served in the Army as a Counter Intelligence Agent during the Korean War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Ribbon and the United Nations Service Medal. Post service, he married Gloria Moro on April 21, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. He worked for over 30 years for the State of Ohio (BWC and BMV) while raising a family in Hilliard. His passions were fulfilled on his small farm, where he tended the land and cared for many animals. He also enjoyed capturing events with his camera in his younger years. And we will never forget his love of consuming the news via The Wall Street Journal, the local paper and all the key news shows and political discussions. As a widow and empty-nester, he had the great fortune of meeting and marrying Judith Frost on December 31, 1991, and then spending the rest of his life with her. Phil is preceded in death by his father Robert Paul, his first wife Gloria, his mother Mildred Turner, and his brother Douglas Paul. Phil is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Cindy; son, Steve (Gina); and grandchildren, Anthony and Matthew; sister-in-law, Sue; nephews and nieces, Brian, Mark, Julia, John Jr., Ann, Jim, Mary, Terry, Pat and Ashley. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dublin Retirement Village AL & MC, as well as Ohio Health Hospice. Thank you for caring for, and making Phil, as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers please consider making a contribution to the following charities: Wounded Warriors Family Support (https://www.wwfs.org), 920 S. 107th Ave., Suite 250, Omaha, NE 68114 or Ohio Health Hospice, (https://foundation.ohiohealth.com) c/o Ohio Health Foundation, PO Box 600001, Columbus, Ohio 43272-9802 in his memory.
