Reno E. Robinett Obituary
Robinett Reno E. Robinett, age 89, of Canal Winchester, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his residence at The Inn at Winchester Trail. Born September 22, 1927 in Canal Winchester to the late Gerald E. and Esther M. (Tenney) Robinett, he was a graduate of Canal Winchester High School and served in the U.S. Army 1946-47. He was retired as V.P. of Public Affairs and Economic Development from South Central Power Company after 44 years of service, served three terms on Canal Winchester City Council (as president for nine years), and served as president of Canal Winchester CIC. He wrote for Country Living Magazine for 10 years, winning several awards. He was a former volunteer for the Madison Twp. Fire Department, and was a member and Past Master of South Gate-Potter Lodge #782 F.&A.M., A.A.S.R. and Aladdin Shrine. He was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Canal Winchester Historical Society, and was a former member of the Canal Winchester Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor Chambers Robinett in 2003. He is survived by his sons, David (Gwen) Robinett, Lancaster, John (Debra) Robinett, New Albany, Chuck (Heather) Robinett, Ashville; grandchildren, Lesley (Michael) Pasqualetto, Kyle (Erin) Robinett, Aaron Paxton, and Lauren Paxton; great-grandson, Liam; sister, Geraldine Scanlan, Houston, TX; and special companion, Marilyn Rush-Ekelberry. Friends may visit 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, 15 W. Columbus St., Canal Winchester, with Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. A Masonic Service will be held 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the Canal Winchester Historical Society, Canal Winchester Human Services or Faith United Methodist Church in Reno's memory.
