Armentrout, Richard
Richard Arthur Armentrout, "Dick", age 86, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Brookdale Muirfield. Born in Springfield Ohio on October 31, 1931 to the late Lester Armentrout and Ethel Snyder Armentrout, Dick was a graduate of Springfield High School, Class of 1949 and attended Wittenburg University. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps serving from 1951-1953. He retired from Empire Meats after many years in the food broker industry. Dick was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Linworth Kiwanis, and the Linworth United Methodist Church. He loved sports, and was a faithful fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Reds. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge with his wife, "Susie". Together they shared years of laughter and good times with lifelong friends who knew him best as "Duke". Dick never met a stranger. His charm, quick-witted sense of humor and positive attitude had a way of drawing people to him; thus, a large number of friends he leaves behind. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Suzanne Curtis Armentrout. Survived by son, Rick (Vicki) Armentrout; daughter, Teri (Rob) Brewer; grandchildren, Chloe and Josie Armentrout, Rob and Jack Brewer; sister, Shirley Litwin; brother, Joe Armentrout; along with nieces, nephews, loving relatives and a host of good friends. All who knew him will dearly miss him. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Muirfield and Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time. There will be no public services or calling hours. A private interment will be held at a later date. www.OhioCremation.org
