Richard K. Conard, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 16 after a long and brutal bout with Lewy Body Dementia. Richard was born on September 11, 1931 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Arthur and Lela Conard. Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ginger; and 3 children, Kristi (Tom) Kirkpatrick, Keith (Karen) Conard and Kelly- Smales (Mike) Young; along with beloved grandchildren, Jena and Alex Kirkpatrick, Adam (Alison) and Tyler Conard and Aubrey, Austin and Anna Smales. He is also survived by his brother, James (Brenda) Conard of Aiken, South Carolina; and sister, Shirley Schweitzer of Coshocton; sister-in-law, Beverly Ralston of Caldwell, Oh; many nieces and nephews of which he was quite fond and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Conard, two sisters Betty Spring and Jean (Marion) Nelson, sister-in-law Barbara (Robert) Radcliff and brother-in-law Robert 'Bud' Ralston. Richard graduated from Coshocton High and served in the Air Force before attending and graduating from The Ohio State University. He had a long and successful career with Columbia Gas System retiring as the Vice President of Human Resources. Dad was a terrific husband, father, grandpa and uncle and loved his family deeply. He was a man of high integrity and strong values who loved his country and had a deep faith in God. Dad enjoyed vacations in Myrtle Beach, winters in Siesta Key, many overseas trips and cruises, keeping a beautiful yard and a spotless car, running, reading the Dispatch and loved the Buckeyes and TBDBITL. Special thanks to the caring staff at Sunrise of Dublin and Capital City Hospice for their loving support in Dad's final days.
