1931 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
Keifer Richard "Dick" Keifer, age 85, of Howard, Ohio, (Apple Valley) passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 23, 1931 in Huntington, West Virginia the son of Herman and Josephine (Strank) Keifer. In 1951, at the young age of 19, Dick married the love of his life, Cherry. He was employed with Rockwell International for 37 years until his retirement in 1988. Dick enjoyed a variety of interests and hobbies, but most important to him was the quality time he spent with his family and friends. Dick shared his love of life with so many and enjoyed every day to its fullest. His trademark "thumbs up" will be a constant reminder of his positive outlook to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha "Cherry" (Adams) whom he married on February 8, 1951; his children, Robert (Mo) Keifer of Pickerington, Terri (George) Schmidt of Villa Hills, Kentucky and David (Gene) Keifer of Raleigh, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Troy (Evon) Keifer, Scott (Erin) Keifer, Jennifer (Kyle) Eck, Lauren Schmidt, Brian (Olivia) Keifer, Kristen (Tim) Tierney, Emily Keifer and Sofia Keifer; five great grandchildren, Bella Keifer, Stella Eck, Isaac Keifer, Parker Eck and Brooklyn Tierney. He is also survived by a brother, Russell (Lois) Keifer of Mount Vernon. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Don Keifer.
