Robert Earl "Bob" McClure Obituary
McClure Robert Earl McClure "Bob" age 86, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, June 21 in Worthington, Ohio. He was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 17, 1930. Bob had a Bachelors Degree from North Texas State University and a Masters Degree from New York University. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Bob and his family transferred to Worthington, OH in August 1968 with General Electric Specialty Materials Division. He retired from General Electric after 32 years. Bob is survived by his loving children, Kevin (Randy) McClure, Debbi (Scott) Butterbaugh and Scott (Teresa) McClure; grandchildren, Robert McClure, Ian (Caroline) Turnage-Butterbaugh, Alex (Allison) Butterbaugh, Candace (Shawn) Pyles, April (Roger) Osbourne, Nick DeCaro, Danielle DeCaro; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a special niece Gay N. McClure-Love; and countless friends. Bob was BCCA member #104 since its inception. Bob was known for his kindness, generosity, devotion to his friends and family and his "Life is Good" philosophy. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, July 22 from 3-6 p.m. at Zaftig, 7020A Huntley Rd., 82 Worthington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd. SE, Newark, OH 43055.
