Robert E. Stormont, age 85, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was a graduate of Hilliard High School, Class of 1950. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church for 72 years, and owner/operator of Sohio at Broad and Norton. Bob was Chief of Prairie Township Fire Department for 11 years and dedicated a total of 41 years of service to the Department. He was a subcontractor for Prairie Township mowing roadways/parks. He was a member and Past Master of West Gate Lodge #623 F.&A.M., member of the American Legion, and member of the Moose Lodge #11. Bob enjoyed mowing, hunting, fishing, his tractors and spending time at Indian Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents William Joseph and Mildred Stormont, his wife Frances Stormont, and sister Betty Jo (Joseph) Jenkinson. He is survived by his children, Gregory (Rachel) Stormont, Douglas (Becky) Stormont and Janice (Gregory) Bell; grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Nikki, Jenny, Grant, Mitchell, Jillian, Cash; and 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. Special thanks to caregivers, Amber, Shelly and Alpha for all their loving care. Family will receive friends 2-6 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 NORWICH ST., HILLIARD, OH 43026, 614-876-1722. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, February 26, 2018 at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the time of service. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
