Roy Leon Pickett, age 73, of West Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Roy was born on January 28, 1944 in Bigelow, AK to Oather Amon and Lela Marie (Mooney) Pickett. Roy attended Central High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 69 - 70 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of AmVets. Roy retired from 7 UP Bottling Co. after 20 + years of service. He loved Elvis Presley music, crossword puzzles, and his car. Preceded in death by his wife Shellie Pickett, parents Oather Amon and Lela Marie Pickett, sisters Ethel (Ray) Wimer, Myrtle Pickett and Edith Waddle, brothers Walter and Harvey Pickett. Survived by brothers, James "Slick" (Andrea) Pickett of Whitehall; and Claud Pickett of Bernie, MO; many nieces and nephews, including, special niece, Patricia (William Croake) Eisel and her grandchildren, Keira, Mattie and Kaitlyn Eisel; also survived by Shellie's children and grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the HOPE & HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, where funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 Interment Sunset Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the .
