Sandra L. Flaim Obituary
Flaim, Sandra L.
1944 - 2018
Sandra L. Flaim, age 73 of Grove City passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 after valiantly fighting small-cell lung cancer. She was born in Middletown, OH. She was predeceased by her husband Garner Frye, brother Richard Stern and sister Juanita Britton. She retired as a purchaser from Kal-Kan where she worked her way through the ranks. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and a leading member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild. Recently, she followed Father Kevin Lutz to St. Mary Catholic Church in German Village. She is also a major financial contributor to the Jubilee Museum where the Convent Room is dedicated in honor of her late husband Garner Frye. Sandy was a devout Catholic that loved to read the Bible and to recite the Rosary. Her faith was always her guiding principle! She enjoyed hosting dinners and parties and even had her kitchen remodeled to include dual ovens. Her caramel apple pie was her trademark. She loved to play competitive games like bocce, corn hole, euchre, trouble, dominoes, and various card games. She was a gracious winner but did not enjoy losing. Sandy's family was second to only her faith and she cared and worried about all of her family members. Although Sandy took pride in her appearance she was even more beautiful inside than she was externally. Sandy is survived by her husband Albert Flaim; children Donald Frye; Tina (Bill) Burns; and Tony (Lana) Frye; parents Donald and Gennida Legg; stepsons Steve, Dave, and Mike (Anita) Flaim; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call 5pm-8pm Monday at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Father Lutz will say the Rosary at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial by Father Lutz will be on Tuesday at 10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 West Broad Street, Columbus. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Sandy's memory to the Jubilee Museum www.jubileemuseum.org. Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a memory or watch Sandy's life tribute video
