Obituary Condolences

Carter Stanley D. Carter, age 88, passed on April 30, 2017, a resident of The Springfield Masonic Home, Springfield, Ohio. Stanley was born May 20, 1928 in Columbus, he was a long time Hilltop resident, and enjoyed living in Worthington over the last 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Helen Carter. Stanley entered the U.S. Navy where he attained the rank of Pharmacist's Mate Third Class. He retired from Battelle Memorial Institute where he was an engineer for 34 years. Stanley loved hunting and fishing in Canada with his friends. He was also a pilot and ham radio operator. Stanley was a proud and dedicated Master Mason, with over 65 years as a brother at the Capital City Lodge No. 656 where he served as Worshipful Master in 1958 and in 1998, and was Lodge Secretary for 10 years. He was a member of the Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite Freemasonry, Knights Templar of Central Ohio - Columbus Commandery #69, and was a Noble of the Aladdin Shriners. Friends may call Tuesday, May 23 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. A Masonic service will be held at 3:30 p.m. At a later date, Stanley will be interred next to his parents at the Mount Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aladdin Shriners Hospital Association for Children, Inc., 1801 Gateway Circle, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
