Wharton Steve Wharton, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 11, 1959. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charles and Marianna Chesser, paternal grandparents Arthur and Alise Wharton, and his father Harry Wharton. He is survived by his best friend and remarkable wife of 36 years, Nancy (Walling) Wharton. Left to cherish his memory, mother, Jean; siblings, Bob (Mary), Bill (Cheryl), and Nancy (Dale) Buckey. Also, George (Carol) Walling, Julie (David) Horne, Ged (Debbie), and David (Karen). Uncle Steve loved his terrific nieces and nephews who always made him smile. Wherever he went, he brought love and laughter. Steve's extraordinary circle of friends have been a constant in his life for nearly 50 years. He loves you guys! He's a member of the Johnstown Sportsman Club and president of the WPHOA. Steve was an avid golfer and OSU football fan. He enjoyed sports, music, and motorcycles. Steve and Nancy shared a love for biking, hiking, and exploring national parks. He was always up for an adventure! Steve was a quick-witted guy with a big presence and an even bigger heart. He will be missed by all. His family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU nurses and staff at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville for their compassionate care. Steve is now a hero to many others through Lifeline of Ohio. His family has chosen to purchase a memorial bench at Blendon Woods, a tree at Hoff Woods Park near his home and contribute to the Guardian Angel program at St. Ann's in Steve's name.
