Smith Virginia "Ginny" Frances Botkin Smith. On Saturday, June 24, 2017, Virginia "Ginny" Frances Botkin Smith, 92, crossed over to be forever with her beloved Christ Jesus. Ginny was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on November 3, 1924, to William Franklin "Frank" Botkin and Thelma Leona Rule Botkin, both preceding her in death. On February 19, 1945, she married Raymond Edward Smith, and they shared a rich, wonderful 53 years of marriage until Ray's death on August 24, 1998. After that, she continued to faithfully intercede in prayer for her family and tried to show them all how to age in the grace of the Lord. She is survived by their three children, Roger Smith (Nancy), Steve Smith (Nita) and Linda Tiberi (Fred); eight grandchildren, Wendy Souzis (Jon), Scott Smith (Heather), Eric Smith (Brittany), Traci Falder (Mike), Troy Tiberi (Ashley), Maggie Smith-Beehler (Jason), Katie Riley (Josh) and Carly Debnam (Travis); and 19 great-grandchildren, Abby, Anna, Brady, Avery, Nora, Jack, Audrey, William, Ethan, Violet, Rhett, Finn, Annie, Max, Jonah, Lydia, Calais, Salem, Zeke. One brother John C. "Jake" Botkin, preceded her in death. She is survived by another brother, Edward K. Botkin of Nitro, West Virginia. She grew in her faith and her love of the Lord as a member of the Church of Christ/Christian Church for over 67 years, most of those years at the Northeast/Northpark Churches of Christ. For the last six years, Ginny was a resident of Worthington Christian Village. While there, she enjoyed working in the library and being an encouragement to as many other residents as she could. Those wishing to gift a memorial in her name may do so by donating to the Worthington Christian Village Benevolent Fund. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the Long Funeral Home, 5528 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio (one block south of SR 161), where funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, Pastor Steve Petty officiating.
