Wesley Robert Landrum

Obituary Condolences

Landrum Wesley Robert Landrum, 19, Gahanna, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 15, 2017. Wesley was born December 8, 1997 in Columbus, Oh. He attended Big Walnut Schools and participated in many different sports. Of all the sports that Wesley loved, he loved wrestling above the rest. He had many friends in the wrestling community, including Lou Demas and his family. Lou was a role model to Wes and was instrumental in developing his love of wrestling and his desire to compete. Wesley attended John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, NY for his senior high school year so he could wrestle under the coaching of Gene Mills. After graduating last year, Wesley worked for G Brands Limited and was very proud to be a part of a business owned by his sister, Alex and brother in law, Matt. Wesley was raised in a large family and was blessed with a big heart to fill in the spaces when a new brother or sister, cousin, or niece or nephew arrived. He was a little brother to some, a big brother to others, a caring grandson, cousin or nephew to family, a true friend to those who knew him, and a loving son to his parents. The pain of his loss hurts so badly that words cannot even explain the hollowness that now fills the space where he sat at the table. Each of us who loved him now wait for the day when we see him again in heaven. I am sure he will be there to show us around when we get there. He is survived by his father, Monte C. Landrum; his mother and step-father, Lisa and Jim Hansen; paternal grandmother, BJ Landrum; paternal grandparents, Jim and Kate Hansen; maternal grandparents, Julie and Terry Lohr; maternal grandparents, Robert and Jeanne McCullough; maternal great grandmother, Martha McCullough; three brothers, Nicholas Landrum and fiancé, Stephanie Morgan, Samuel and Benjamin Hansen; five sisters, Alexandra Gleim and husband, Matthew, Grace, Gabby, Lily and Elise Hansen; two nieces, Adeia and Sophia Gleim; and Sherri and Dave Draghi, Denise and Mike Horvath, Robert McCullough, Michelle and Joe Viers, Will and Laura Hansen, Mame and Dave Trainor, David and Michele Hansen, Molly and Joe Santamour, Niki and Brian Dillon, Skenyon and Vicky Hansen, Shea and Kim Hansen and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Mont Landrum. A Memorial Reception will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 Johnstown Rd. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the reception at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Wesley may be made to Wesley Landrum Wrestling Scholarship Fund c/o Wesbanco, 116 Stygler Rd., Gahannna 43230.
