William Martin Castle, age 90, passed away on November 2nd, 2017, at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville. He was born July 29th, 1927, in Millersport, Ohio to William Martin and Miriam Lucille Castle. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1945 and went on to serve in the US. Coast Guard until 1947. Upon graduating from The Ohio State University in 1951 he pursued a teaching and coaching career. He received his Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University and later retired from the Ohio Department of Education where he had worked as a Financial Coordinator. He was a member of the Utica Masonic Lodge #1291, Scottish Rite, Utica Athletic Hall of Fame and the American Legion Post #637 of Millersport. He was a skilled woodworker and artist and blessed many with gifts of his talents. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Donna, son, Paul (Cathy)and daughter Susan (Patrick) O'Linn, five grandchildren, Leslie (Edward) Bodine, Mollie (Vincent) Petitti, Emily Annable, David and Victoria Castle and eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bridget, Colin, Peyton, William, Warren, Brielle and Cecilia. He is also survived by his brother Gene Castle and family and sister-in-law Marilyn Hicks and family. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 21st St., Newark. The Funeral Service will begin at 10 am on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017 at Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley Rd., Pickerington, OH where he was a member. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in his memory to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH, 43215 or Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley Rd., Pickerington, OH, 43147.
