Zoran Botic Obituary
Botic, Zoran
1948 - 2017
Dr. Zoran Bozidar Botic was born on October 6, 1948 in Valjevo, Serbia to Bozidar Botic (father) and Vinka Radovic Botic (mother). On November 17, 2017, after a two-year battle with melanoma, he passed away at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Martello Botic, two daughters, Simonida and Christiana Botic, son-in-law, Timothy Simeone, and grandson, Alyosha Simeone. Dr. Botic deeply loved his family and God. He practiced medicine for 40 years. As an anesthesiologist, he was known for putting his patients at ease and making them laugh even in the toughest of circumstances. He attended medical school at the University of Belgrade and went on to do a residency in anesthesia at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a fellowship in high-risk obstetrical anesthesia at the University of Louisville. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Dr. Botic will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, larger-than-life stories, great intellect, unwavering faith, and tender heart. He was a member of St. Stevan-Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Columbus, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230 where a visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 11am at St. Stevan-Dechani Serbian Church 1840 Cassady Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219 with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Zoran's memory to the Melanoma Cancer Research Fund at The James or St. Stevan-Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church.
