Dear Emily,

I'm very saddened to learn that Lee passed away. I am heartened to remember the wonderful life he lead with you, music, philosophy, teaching, trips to Spain and all manner of adventures with people from around the world. He was a stalwart friend to me in times of need whom I shall always hold in the highest regard.

Much love,

At home.
Dear Emily and Evan, I hardly know where to begin to express my condolences. Your sense of loss can only be imagined. As for us, after having know that most remarkable Lee for about 50 years, his legacy of wit, wisdom and shenanigans will not be forgotten.

I will never forget the few times I spent with Lee and you, in the '80s especially...those amazing parties...like nothing else in Columbus. What a powerful spirit--a fierce joy of life with a discerning, tough-minded, and celebrant mind. He burned and his light burns very very bright, and we remember him that way.
Louisa and I send out best wishes to you.
