Henry J. Winn

Winn Henry J. Winn, 87, of Lynnfield, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 11, 2014. Born in Lowell on March 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry J. Winn and Frances (Scanlon) Winn. Dr. Winn was a graduate of Keith Academy in Lowell, Class of 1944 and received his PhD from the Ohio State University in 1953. He retired in 2012 from the faculty of Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Winn was a Lynnfield resident for nearly 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Suzanne (Stanton) Winn; his six children, Dan Winn of Wakefield and his wife, Wendy, Matthew Winn of Lynnfield, Alice Winn of Tallahassee, Florida and her husband, Tom Miller, Sheila Barnes of Sayville, New York and her husband, Tim, Jennifer Winn of Lynnfield and her husband, Andrew Smedira and Kate Winn of Brooklyn, New York; and his sister, Dorothy Whitten of Chelmsford. Dr. Winn is also survived by six grandchildren. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements for cremation were made through McDONALD FUNERAL HOME in Wakefield, MA.
