Dorothy C. Chaney – Gornall, formerly of Columbus, passed away 01/11/2018 at the Bluebird Retirement Center, London, OH. Dorothy was born May 5, 1928 to her parents Bert and Ora Iery in Vanceburg, KY. She was the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters. Dorothy married Lloyd Chaney in 1946 and they were the parents of three children, Sharon, Debbie and Mark. She was a stay at home Mom until Lloyd's passing in March of 1974, at that time she entered the work force, retiring from Mount Carmel Hospital after 15 years of service as a nursing assistant. Dorothy married Frank Gornall in December, 1997 and they enjoyed 12 years together traveling to bluegrass festivals and eating many potluck dinners before his passing in 2010. Dorothy was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Lawson, Beulah Alsgood, Alma Looney, Lena Wells and brothers Jim Iery, Charlie Iery, and Clarence Iery. Dorothy is survived by daughters Sharon Watson of London, Ohio, Debbie Conard of Orient, Ohio and son Mark Chaney (Michelle) of Columbus, Ohio. Grandchildren – Jim Clarkson (Kathy), Steve Clarkson, (Tami Thompson), Rob Conard and Chris Conard, Ashley Chaney, Shyla Hewitt and Jimmy ChaneyNumerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren .A special Thank You to the Bluebird Retirement Center, especially the ladies in Grandma's Farmhouse as well as the team at Kindred Hospice for their care and support. Friends may visit Monday January 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME 2697 Columbus Street Grove City, Ohio where funeral will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday.
