Thomas Leavitt Cheney
Thomas Leavitt Cheney, age 80, of Hermitage, TN, died Saturday, February 23, 2013.
Mr. Cheney was a member of Central Christian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He started Vol State Insulation Company, a commercial and industrial insulation business, which he ran until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by wife of 56 years, Sara Nausley Cheney; children, Sara (Alton) McConnell, Tom (Cathy) Cheney, Jr., Dorothy Dailey and John (Connie) Cheney; grandchildren, Sara Van Effen, Jenea Johnson, Tom, Taylor, Trevor and Torrey Cheney, Becky, Katie and Grace Braswell; three great grandchildren.
Cryptside services will be conducted 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making memorials to Central Christian Church, 404 East Main St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130 or Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37204.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday and 1:00-2:30 p.m., Tuesday at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN, (615) 773-2663. Obit Line, (615) 641-2663

Well, Tom finally went through that door that we all will have to go through some day. He has no regrets and his suffering is gone forever. He is with family and friends that have left this earth and have greeted him with open arms. He was greeted with the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
