Henry P. Felton

Mr. Henry P. Felton, age 94, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, TN.

Henry P. Felton was born in White County, TN and lived in the Cassville community for many years. He was the son of the late Luther and Cora Green Felton, also of White County. He attended Gruetli-Laager Church of Christ.

Henry Felton was a miller, a blacksmith, an electrician, and a plumber. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps at age 18, where he served from 1935-1938. He was an original member of the White County National Guard from 1945-1950. Mr. Felton retired from the Samsonite Corporation in Murfreesboro, TN where he was a maintenance technician for 13 years. He had many hobbies and worked many years restoring a Model T, which he still took out on short drives.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie Johnson Felton; and his children, Mary Rollins, Danny Wilmoth (Sandy), Ann Harris, Bill Wilmoth (Sharon), Paulene Keller and Brenda Sandler (Cole).

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas (Dorothy) Felton.

He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Stoots and Jean Harwood of Michigan. Mr. Felton lived to see five generations of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at Oak Grove Church of Christ, with burial in Old New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Wayne Pagel will officiate. Pallbearers will include grandsons and great-grandsons.
