So honored to have met him at Tennessee Veterans Home this year. He was such a gentleman and had a great testament to share about his faith. He gave the Lord credit for everything and I loved our brief visits. Prayers for this family.

I believe that Mr Haynes touched so many people's lives. I first encountered him on the square in Shelbyville eight years ago. He was checking out the memorial tribute to the veterans of war that have passed on. It always has stood out in my mind. I pray for you all as I know he will be missed tremendously.

I had the chance to produce a documentary film on Fayne last year which aired on NPT.
I walked into his flag store to do an interview planning on spending about an hour or so...just a quick interview. Well, I sat there for four hours. He told me everything he could think of. I will NEVER forget those four hours. I feel honored to have had the chance to listen.
Here is his story if you're interested.

Mr. Haynes was such a good neighbor to us for many years. My mother Iva Lee Dailey and Mr. Haynes started walking in the neighborhood early in the mornings way before walking was popular like it is now. God Bless you all. He will be missed.

Our Eagle Scout and wheelchair bound son, James purchased the flag and flagpole for his Eagle scout project, a Veteran's Memorial in the city of White House, TN from Mr. Haynes. We enjoyed his colorful stories of his time in captivity and his struggle to escape. My how the Lord watched and protected this great hero. We will always cherish in our hearts his stories and forever be grateful for his service to our great country. Thank you Mr. Haynes> We will miss you but Heaven certainly gained someone very special.

What a positive thinking and acting Christian and Patriot! Mr. Haynes let those two realities permeate his life as husband, father, businessman, neighbor, and citizen. My mother and I ran into him at City Cafe six years ago.. What a blessing to us all! May the Lord comfort you all!
